Bill Savarese

Bill Savarese was educated at the University of Denver and Danish International Studies in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he wound up staying sixteen years and worked in animated film. While in Copenhagen he won a National competition in 1989 and painted his first large (145’ X 25’) mural.

In 1995 he co-founded ‘Wall Street Art’; a group of artists funded by the EU, and completed 2 more six story murals. Bill moved to Ft Lauderdale in 1997 with his wife and two daughters and continued doing both residential and commercial murals throughout South Florida. In 2010 he was honored as ‘South Florida’s Best Muralist’ by City Link magazine after completing the wonderful twin murals of Jaco Pastorius in Oakland Park. Aside from teaching at Yellow Wood, Bill also serves on Pompano Beach and Oakland Park Public Art Committees.
